I'm not sure whether the installer is pointing at an old version if it doesn't detect an install, but Serviio certainly doesn't seem to enforce an old version and runs just fine on the latest stable version as far as I can tell. I do recall some issues when I first installed, and though I can't remember specifics I'm pretty sure it was a botched Java install and I had to set the PATH variables manually. It has been a while since I installed Serviio, but I've recently updated both JRE and JDK to v8 update 25 (64-bit) and have absolutely no problems. We are told tu keep our systems uptodate, if Serviio still uses obsoletes java release it becomes a dangerous product.
